blah blah blah what were you expecting?

Okay okay okay

I'll post. Even *I* was begining to feel bad that Joey was doing all the work (for once ;) )

I'm not feeling wordy (for once ;)) so i'm choosing to do my post as follows:

1. Married life = kick ass! I never planned on it til I was 60, but i'd recommend it for all

2. Joey, bless his heart, needs to quit laughing everytime the radio says "it's hot out today!" - we get it, it's not as hot as Texas - but it's fuckin' warm

3. Cooking a meal using 3 burners and the oven in 30 degree weather (that's 90 for you Americans) in a small apartment with no AC is in no way awesome.

4. Sweating as you eat also sucks.

5. Apartments without AC should be outlawed.

6. Joey's car is a big hit in Canada - or it should be, considering people stare at us everywhere we go still

7. Did I mention no AC blows goats? It does.

8. The drive between the 'vag and the 'van can kiss my ass. One more go in the near future and I'm done with it.

9. Having a wedding is the best thing ever. I just wish I coulda visited more with everyone that came so far :(

10. Calgary sucks. It's roads suck. Me suffering from apparent altitude sickness sucks. Taking an hour and half to do something that should take 5 minutes sucks. Having friends, family and stampede there, however, rocks.

That about catches everything from my end up to date. Oh - except - did I mention no AC is the work of the devil?

Ciao!

k.

good to be home

SO after 10 days in Calgary we're finally back home. It was a fun trip. The Stampede is pretty much like the State Fair of Texas but with a rodeo. I do have to admit that I was watching the chuckwagon races everyday on tv.

We didn't make it to the mountians and we didn't make it to the Our Lady Peace concert... we did see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, and ate lots of fair food. The big thing up there is mini donuts...and they were worth the hype, just not 2 dozen.

The highlight of the trip going down Crowfoot Trail and passing The Liquor Box which is two doors down from The Big T's (sound it out... there ya go... funny isn't it?) The Big T's is a "southern bbq" place which we wanted to try out but didn't get around to it, so this story sucks.

what's 3 minus 2?

another day in calgary

so we just got home from the stampede.. spent 8 hours there, not by choice either... just about the time we were ready to head back on the c-train, some friends called and were heading up there so we stayed.

lots of fun and lots of fair food, really the only difference between the state fair of texas and the stampede is the rodeo. well and the food in texas had a lot more variety. but the stuff here was pretty good and gets the joey 2 thumbs up. hell there is even a casino on the property.

tomorrow we head up to the mountains, we'll prolly bypass Banff just because it's tourist trap even in the summer, and also i've been there before (the last time i came to canada to visit janie and our new niece... not sure if i posted about it or not... my guess is i didnt, since i never posted until this past week)

this mini holiday has been fun, but it'll be good to get back to the vag patch where our comfy bed is. after the mountains we'll be back in calgary for the rest of the weekend, going to see Our Lady Peace play on friday and then Matt Mays and el Torpedo along with The Trews on Sunday... will be good to see some concerts. we missed the dan band last night (didnt know he was playing until 11:00pm and that's only because we heard it on the radio.)

this post has become boring and way too long... so long suckas i'll post again when we get back from the mountains.

The Yellow Box makes another trip

So "The Short Bus" or "Gordon" as some people call it, otherwise known as my car made the 3 day drive from Dallas to Regina just fine, so now we're going to take it west to Calgary and possibly Banff or somewhere in the mountains. Let's hope it can make it, the first Canadian test... the next will come in winter and we'll see if it can make it over the snow drifts.

here's a link for those that played, and quit WoW might enjoy...

Road Trips

surprised aren't ya?

Well the last two days have been full of road trips. Yesterday we had to go back to Estevan to pick up our marriage certificate so we can get me access to canadian funny money.

Wednesday, after going to the little farmers market, Janie decided to take me to Craven and Lumsden to see the 'valley'. It was pretty cool, I got to see a hill! Those that have been here will know the excitement of seeing something other than acres and acres of flat wheat fields.

and of course it's Stampede time. So we'll be heading out to Calgary in a couple of days for somes drinks and fun.

And also...

Happy 4th of July to the Americans...

We did our day already a couple days ago :D I wouldn't know how it was, as that was the day of Joey's puking ;)

LOL

Joey's a posting fool! I can see him typing his lil' heart away over there so I thought I'd sneak in a post!

It's true - we're married, it's true - it was the best day of my life, it's true - marriage is bliss.

And we've already put part of our vows into play - the whole sickness and health thing. What with my projectile vomit last week, and his version of it (and more!) this weekend. Super fun way to start a life together!

Okie - that should be enough to beat him to his next post...

I think it's pictures :D

now there are 13 pages of photos that janie decided to upload into photobucket.. i'm only sharing a few of the classic ones.

this here is new lineup for team canada, otherwise known as the bride's side
Bridal Party

team usa...aka my side
Groom Party

this one is a classic of my friends... esp. since the first thing Vazzini (the guy in the lawn chair) said when trying on the tux..."Gimmie my money!!"
The Mob Family

this next one is Sanford... notice the nice heel-to-toe, was this guy in marching band or what. The bridesmaid is Jenny, the female MC of the wedding, and is living in aussie land
Sanford

and finally some proof that we are actually married...
