Tex-ass, Wings, Fair, Hockey and stuff!

Well.

What can I say?

BEST TRIP TO TEXAS EVER!!!!!

As all the buzz has said already - it's true that my amazing and wonderful and awesome boy proposed to me yesterday!!

Questions of how it happened. I landed at DFW and he picked me up and I had the most amazing and meaningful hug of my life after what had been the worst time in my life ever. He took me for lunch, and then back to the house to drop stuff off and freshen up. See - we had appointments ready for mani/pedi time at May's nails (something we'd always wanted to do together but were generally too lazy to pull off!) After that, we were to get semi-dolled up and go out to a nice diner - which for 2 people that love Sunday pants as much as us - it should of maybe sent off some warning lights in my head, but it didn't. I was just excited to get prettied up to go out for supper. However, we were running late getting back to the house and getting out to do our nails so something else must of clicked in Joey's head - we're not gonna make supper. So, while i was in the bathroom freshening, he yelled for me to come into the other room. Once there, he stood up, grabbed my hand and kissed it, got down on one knee and said some of the most amazing things I've heard ... I think. I say that because upon realizing what was going on, my mind kinda went blank, and the only thing that went thru my head while he was speaking was "I'M GETTING ENGAGED! I'M GETTING ENGAGED!!" At some point, he opened a little ring box to present to me what is the most beautiful and amazing and perfect "finger wing" (somehow, somewhere back when I was in Australia him and i started refering to engagement rings as finger wings...) I'd ever seen. *Insert Janey Bouncing Here* - which I did for awhile - and I won't lie - there were also some happy tears! Somewhere in there I managed to squeek out a "yes" to the question of "will you marry me?".

He apologized last night that it hadn't been more "romantic" - but to me it was perfect because it was about *us* - not the surroundings. Plus - had he taken me for supper then for a walk a park at night -as he had planned - that would of sent up HUGE alarms that something was coming, and at that point then, we'd run the risk of me shitting myself in public.

At any rate - HOLY FUCKING SHIT I'M ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE A FIANCE!!!!!

We dont have much details worked out other than hopefully May-ish for a wedding. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In other - non-me-being-engaged news....

I had my first trip to the State Fair of Texas today - it was pretty friggin' neat. Y'all know me - i HATE rides, but i got to shop and eat foods I've never really seen before, so I was pretty happy about that. We got my "mom #2"'s Christmas present - some shoes (we call the Crocs back home - they're called Nothings or something here - super comfy!!) and I got some lotions n' stuff and a .... uh... hehe Vitamix. Which - for those of you that know me well - know I was exposed to said vitamix in australia this passed year when Hoste and Plover bought one after their wedding. Super cool blender that is so much more than just a blender. I'm not going to get into it - just know I'm friggin' happy!

Tonight - also - a night of first's -

I got to go to my very first Dallas Stars game on our season tickets that were bought when I thought I'd be living down here for most of the season. Oopie on that one. But we went to watch them (sadly) beat Calgary in what was a really exciting game. I get to take a few more while Im down here - most excited about the 2 Oilers games! WOOHOOO!!

Tomorrow I get to go and jinx the Cowboys with Joey, Giggles and WG. I say jinx because even if I show only 10 seconds of interst in the team, they start to lose. I find great humour in it. Those that like the Cowboys don't appreciate it.

I am also lucky to have a friend from Canada that's gonna be down here tomorrow night that we're going to take out for eats (mexican i believe mmmmmm) so that will be VERY awesome. Hell i was excited just in and of itself but now that i get to show off my ring.... oooooo aaaaaaah oooooooh !!!!!!!!!!!!

So on that note - my boy .. erm... FIANCE - just made me fried rice that Imma gonna go enjoy. Mmmmmm engaged rice bliss!!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ciao

Bells of some sort have started to ring....

For those that were linked here by Sanford's last post... I proposed to Janie last night. I've had the ring sitting in my room for over a month waiting for the canuck to get here.

she said yes!

then proceeded to spend most of the night yapping with people and planning a wedding.

Today will be fun, her first trip to the state fair, her first Dallas Stars hockey game and our first full day as fiancees.

As I said -

Victory will be short lived. Payback's a bitch.

Also - Ott is a TOTAL AND COMPLETE TARD.

Who can't skate off the ice onto the bench? I mean really.

His goal should be dis-allowed just because he's a tard.

Fucking tard.

Ciao.

here... another post just to make me a liar cuz that's what i do.

2 games down
1 game to go

Road Trip

So... Hi.... remember me? didnt think so. but anyway, things are crazy down here in Tex-ass. i've been working and looking for a normal 9 to 5 job so i can make as many hockey games as i can. so far i've only missed one regular season game at home... and they lost...i could go into superstitions and how i'm not allowed to miss a game now, but that's just silly... but it is funny don't ya think.

as the title say... the stars are on a road trip now... they became the last team to play on the road last night. luckily the stars have some of the best hockey announcers in the league :P so i was able to listen to the game while at work on WBAP 820 (which i will be tuned to tonight at work while the beloved stars beat up on the new and improved Oil.)

this road trip is just through western canadia... 1 down, 2 to go. Flames lost (told ya so Janie :P) 3 - 2 in OT. next up the oilers, then vancouver, then i get to see my fave canadian next week... and lots more posts to ensue.

***edit***
since some people feel that this post was filled with typos and incoherent thoughts... i will gladly point out now that the only time the stars lost at home thus far in the regular season... was when Sanford and WG went to the game

tee hee :D

For my Joey

Thanks Alanis!!

Everything

i can be a nightmare of the grandest kind
I can withhold like it's going out of style
I can be the moodiest baby and you've never met anyone
Who is as negative as I am sometimes

I am the wisest woman you've ever met
I am the kindest soul with whom you've connected
i have the bravest heart that you've ever seen and you've never met anyone
Who is as positive as I am sometimes

you see everything you see every part
you see all my light and you love my dark
you dig everything of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can't relate
And you're still here

i blame everyone else & not my own partaking
my passive aggressive-ness can be devastating
I'm terrified and mistrusting and you've never met anyone
Who is as closed down as I am sometimes

you see everything you see every part
you see all my light and you love my dark
you dig everything of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can't relate
And you're still here

What I resist persists and speaks louder than i know
What i resist you love no matter how low or high I go

I am the funniest woman that you've ever known
I am the dullest woman that you've ever known
I'm the most gorgeous woman that you've ever known and you've never met anyone
Who is as everything as I am sometimes

you see everything you see every part
you see all my light and you love my dark
you dig everything of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can't relate
And you're still here

Can't resist

Generally speaking, I wouldn't post a picture that's not me or Joey without permission, but this one is just too cute to pass up!

The other day while shopping at Winners I stumbled across a Team Canada hockey sweater in Bubs' size. Upon showing it to him, he relayed his displeasure in the sweater. However, I proceeded to purchase it, figuring, if he can't be persuaded to wear it, I have faith someday I'll have a little boy and HE will wear it. WTF? Since when do *I* start buying baby things for the baby I'm *not* having yet?!?! (Sadly, it's not the only item!!)

Getting it back to the house, A-drew and Lil' B proceeded to tell their youngest brother how absolutely cool the hockey sweater was, and VOILA - Bubs was all about wearing it.

So - I have to post a picture of him in it when we were shopping last week, because it's so friggin' damn cute! Excuse the quality - camera phones aren't my preferred method of photography but until I solve the Digi problem - it's all I have!

In other news - guess who had a mini-snow storm 2 days ago. Here's a hint. It's NOT the one that lives in Texas.

With my luck, we'll get one the day before I'm to leave to Texas and I won't be able to make it to the airport. I think that might be enough to physically kill me if that's the case.

Has anyone else noticed that a certain Texan hasn't posted since July? That's because, as much as I love him, he blows goats. (Mostly, I just like saying "he blows goats" - but also - he does, for not posting.)

I'm off - little to no sleep again last night (cuz it's fall, and I don't sleep in the fall) and I have to pick up Mesh-back in the 'Vag today so I'm gonna see if I can nap for a minute before going.

Ciao!

It's fucking bullshit

It's bad enough that tonight my boy is enjoying the first game of the NHL season from great seats in Dallas. He's taking his Mom - that's so sweet - and that's fine, because I can't be there. What I'm disappointed about is that the first NHL games of the year are being played tonight, and the only damn game I get on my tv is the Toronto/Ottawa game. Those that have heard me speak hockey know how I feel about the Eastern teams. Okay - granted, I'd rather an Eastern Canadian team take the cup than an American team (teehee) but it's only because it's still Canadian. Both Calgary and Edmonton's games are televised tonight - regionally. Meaning - IN Alberta.

TSN you blow GOATS today.

You blow goats most days - because I'm certainly NOT a sports nut. But is it too much to ask and see a *good* game for the first game of the new NHL??

FUCKERS.

I promise - that's the last sports rant I'll have. Dupe will be wondering who, exactly, I am!!

Ciao!

Tis the season...

For sore throats, swollen tonsils, infected ears, coughing, sneezing and aches all over.

For those of you *not* from the fabulous place that IS Saskatchewan - this is very common when the temperature fluctuates between +20 and +5 on any given day. Basically - when you go from hot to cold in no time flat - what do you expect right? C'est la vie - that's the price you pay for living in a place that has no tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes, mudslides and other various and fun natural disasters that plague other areas of the world. If flu, snowstorms and the odd (one in 28 years!) tornado is all you have to live through - sounds like paradise to me!

In other news, it is my turn for the month exchange of residents between Texas and Saskatchewan. That means on 21Oct I will be jetting off from Minot (gotta mix my departure point up a bit!) to Dallas for a couple weeks of fun with my boy. We'll be hitting the Texas State Fair dealie (he talks quite highly of it - I'm not sure it could *possibly* top the North Dakota State Fair - but we'll see!) as well as using up a few of the hockey tickets we have down there. It'll be awesome to actually *use* some - for me. He's been to every game he could go to so far. Spoiled brat that he is.

I have my attire planned for going to the games. I'll get a chance to take in 2 Oilers' games, so that's awesome! I went out and got some nice new Edmonton gear to wear to it. For the rest of the Canadian games (because there's a few while I'm there!) I'll be the one wearing a team Canada sweater. My boy will hopefully protect me against any of the big assholes that see to it to taunt the Canadian. And stop me from kicking some ass!

Other than that, I'm not sure what else we have planned for my time down there. I'll have to buy Jack a birthday present as today he turns 30-something. So I'll do what I can to find him a cool Cowboys present. Which means SHOPPING! So excited for shopping. Make my usual trip to Sephora. I also found a new store online called Ulta that I will drag my boy to. He's VERY good about going to my girly makeup stores with me. One of many reasons I love him!

Other than that I'm sure we'll make a couple stops in to my fave. eating establishments. You know, Sonic, Neuvo Leon (I can't spell...), Uncle Julios, Chipoltle etc... Have I ever mentioned how fucking hard it is to eat sensible in Texas? It's fuckin' HARD!! Too many good foods that you can't get here. So not fair.

Man - I just realized I rambled about boring useless shit for way too long this post. I apologize for that! Maybe at some point I'll have something to post that isn't boring and useless. Just don't hold your breath!

Ciao!
